BOB TREVINO LIKES IT, writer/director Tracie Laymon is inspired by the true friendship she finds with a stranger while searching for her father online. Often playing the role of caregiver to people like her father who are supposed to care for her, Lily Trevino longs for a family connection that has been abandoned by her mother since childhood and abruptly abandoned by her father in his twenties. Bob Trevino works long hours alone at a construction company to support his wife, Jenny, with her scrapbooking habit. The couple has endured much over the past decade, and Bob has tried to put his wife first, ignoring his own feelings and needs for companionship, meaning, and connection—that is, until he receives an unexpected Facebook message from a stranger. Lily and Bob’s blossoming friendship becomes an essential source of connection and healing in both their lives. Bob’s father’s small acts of kindness fill a family void in Lily’s life and gain the power to change her direction forever. In their own ways, these two must learn that they are worthy of the extraordinary love that manifests itself through small acts of kindness.
