Growing up in the Amazon jungle, Otem made a rare friendship – she found a lost jaguar cub named Hope. When a tragic event forced Otem to leave Hope for the unknown of New York, she dreamed of returning to the rainforest to her friend for years. At the age of 14, getting used to city life, Otem discovers that her childhood village is under threat from animal traders, and decides that she must return to the Amazon to her beloved jaguar. Anya (Emily Bett Rickards), Otem’s adorably clumsy biology teacher, tries unsuccessfully to talk her out of this reckless plan. Along with Anya, Otem goes on a journey to reunite with Hope and save her from those who seek to destroy the rainforest and its wildlife.
