After a traumatic incident during his residency, young medical student James Hayman (Namir Smallwood) is transferred to a rural hospital for a fresh start. Dr. Harrison (seasoned stage and screen actor Michael Potts) notices that James is having trouble building relationships with his patients. She suggests that he take a course that focuses on patient manners and fostering a deeper relationship with them. The demons of Jamesβ past catch up with him as he deals with a young asthma patient (Sidney Flanigan, NEVER, RARELY, SOMETIMES, ALWAYS) with mysterious symptoms. His grip on reality begins to slip as his disturbing nightmares, fear-driven speculations and physical injuries collide with the harsh realities of the medical world. In his unconventional, humanistic take on the genre, director Alex Thompson assembles a strong cast of seasoned actors for his sequel to SAINT FRANCES β and predecessor to GHOSTLIGHT.
