A modern-day story about finding your fortune in the world of West Texas oil rigs. Typically, a landowner’s job is to negotiate and finalize agreements with landowners who have mineral rights to lease those rights to the company they represent. Essentially, they manage the land and secure leases so they can drill for oil and gas. Like a construction site foreman, they build roads, build housing for workers (man camps), assemble drilling equipment, and oversee the drilling of wells, especially in remote locations. They are also part Fixer, Problem Solver, and Facilitator.. CBS News Sunday Morning: Episode #44.24 (2022). This could have easily been rated an 8.5 – 9. Ex-wife/mother. They serve no purpose to the plot and are simply annoying and insulting to the women of West Texas. A far-flung West Texas man I understand where Sheridan is coming from, but this is terrible. West Texas women are some of the strongest, most ambitious women I know. Now that aside, the writing and acting are excellent. Sheridan could easily have another Yellowstone on his hands if he gets out of the very awkward interfamilial rut. But again, I love Sheridan’s writing (and acting) and a mostly enjoyable show.
